Community Member
SEM0000 – SES Induction
SEM0001 – Community Volunteering
SEM0010 – SES Safety

Field Operations Member (one stripe)

Requirements from Community member plus:

SEM0300 – Participate in a Rescue
or all of the following
SEM0301 – General Rescue
SEM0302 – Casualty Handling
SEM0303 – Ropes, Knots and Holdfasts
SEM0304 – Ladders
SEM0320 – Emergency Lighting

Plus……
SEM0021 – Operate Communications Equipment
SEM0203 – Apply First Aid

And at least six months active service in participating in SES roles and functions to an acceptable operational standard.

Senior Field Operations Member (two stripes)
Requirements from Community Member and Field Operations Member plus:
SEM1005 – Conduct Briefings and Debriefings
SEM0019 – Safety Officer

Plus any two of the following:
SEM0030 – Map Reading and Navigation
SEM0101 – Floodboat operator level 1
SEM0401 – Road Crash Rescue
SEM0502 – Land Search
SEM0510 – Air Observer
SEM0601 – Storm Damage Operations
SEM0602 – Working Safely at heights
SEM0602 – Working safely at heights ground crew
SEM0701 – Chainsaw Operations level 1
SEM0801 – Traffic control operations
SEM0902 – Vertical Rescue
RFA group – (SEM0310, 0311, 0312 these three courses count as one)
SEM3110 – Work in an Emergency Operations Centre
Plus: at least six months active service as a Field Operations Member and participating in SES roles and functions to an acceptable operational standard.

Team Leader (three stripes)
Requirements from Community Member, Field Operations Member and Senior Field Operations Member plus:
SEM1008 – Intro to Team Leadership
Plus: at least six months active service as a Senior Field Operations Member and participating in SES roles and functions to an acceptable operational standard.
